WGANJ Advanced Beginner Program
Learn to golf in just one season
This is a 13 week instructional program with teaching pros. These pros
have developed a comprehensive program to walk new golfers through the basics of holding the club to playing a full round with confidence.
Each week will be 1.5 hours of golf basics with the teaching pros.
Please plan on arriving by 5:00 PM.

Established in 1931, the Preakness Valley Golf Course is situated in the Preakness Valley Park on 377 acres and shares the property with the Historic Dey Mansion. The facility houses two courses, East Course is Par 72, playing 4652 yards from the red tees and the West Course is Par 72, playing 4,926 from the red tees.
League Level:
The Advanced Beginner Golfer may have completed the BEGINNER PROGRAM, had a few lessons or played a little Pitch and Putt. If you know the basics of the swing and the game but are still not quite comfortable on the course, this is probably the program that will work for you. These leagues offer instruction during a 13 through 15 week season to give you time to work on your skills while becoming more comfortable navigating the course. As an Advanced Beginner, you probably aren't keeping score. On the course, you may elect to play a scramble format with your group in order to attempt to maintain a standard Pace of Play of 2:15 for 9 holes or 4:30 for 18 holes.

Registration and attendance at, or participation in, WGANJ meetings, events and other activities constitutes an agreement by the registrant for WGANJ’s use and distribution (both now and in the future) of the registrant or attendee’s image or voice in photographs, videotapes, electronic reproductions and audiotapes of such events and activities.
Refund Policy:
Before completing your registration, please note that deposits/registration fees are non-refundable. WGANJ does not issue refunds for event or registration fees except in circumstances where an event is cancelled and cannot be rescheduled.
