League Registration Process
Questions and Answers
Are you a new member of WGANJ? Have you had issues registering for a league in the past?
The League Registration Process can be confusing. So, WGANJ is planning a conference call to discuss the process and answer any questions you may have about how this all works and what do "what if". Please join this call if you have any questions about how this works:
Email questions in advance or during the call to: WGANJinfo@gmail.com
Provided are a few frequently asked questions:
Q: What is the date and time for registration?
A: Registration opens at 7:00 pm on Tuesday March 22 online at 2022 Summer Leagues on the WGANJ website and also via the WGANJ App
Q: Are the league offerings available to see beforehand?
A: Yes. the 2022 Summer Leagues will be open in late February and you will see what we are offering.
Q: What does a Double Play and Triple Play mean?
A: A Double Play league will play 2 different courses, split evenly as possible between the 2 courses. The courses will be played in the order they are presented. Triple Play leagues will play 3 different courses in the order presented.
Q: Do I have to sign on exactly at 7:00 pm to get into a league?
A: An early sign on affords you the best possibility to get into your first choice. Some leagues fill up within the first few minutes of opening (just like your favorite concert tickets).
Q: What happens if the league I wanted to join has filled up?
A: Every league will have a "wait list" option, GET ON IT! There is always the possibility we can talk to the course and the captain and increase the size of the league, or that a spot will open up. Also, if you have a second choice, register for that one, but when you get to the payment page - do not pay. Just hit "invoice me". This will make it easier for our Finance people.
Q: What happens if my friends get in, but I don't?
A: Our leagues committee works tirelessly to try to ensure that you get to play with your friends. Get on the waitlist and let them work some magic. We make no guarantees, but more often than not, they are successful with pairing you with at least one friend.
Q: When will I know if I have been moved from the waitlist and into the league?
A: We usually are able to make all moves within a week. You will be moved in and will be invoiced the league fee. You have 3 days to make your payment or we will move onto the next name on the list.
Q: What happens if I change my mind and need to cancel?
A: If your league has not started, contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org and someone will get in touch with you. We make commitments to the golf courses several weeks before leagues start. Depending on the golf course we may be able to refund a portion of your fee. Once your league has started, please reach out to your League Captain. You can also see the refund policy on the website under "ABOUT US".
Q: What happens if the league does not fill up?
A: Bergen County requires complete foursomes to book tee times. We need at least 2 times per league or that league will be cancelled. If your league is cancelled due to low registration, we will contact you to work on moving into another league.
Q: When will Substitute Registration open?
A: Each league has an option to register as a substitute player. Completing this registration will put you on the sub list for that particular league. You may complete as many league substitute registrations as you would like at no cost. The Substitute option will open three days after league registration.
We look forward to a terrific golfing season!
